WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Administrative Director or his/her designate

Directs the nature of work and duties of accounting.

Provides an on-going financial information system support.

Supports the General Director in fulfilling his/her responsibilities to the Board of Directors.

Supports the Administrative Director in fulfilling his/her responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountant duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

Prepare financial statements for the company and subsidiaries, or as directed.

Review and process routine accounting data for revenue and expenditures to review and report financial transactions to funding sources. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance with provincial and federal requirements, accounting standards and audit practices and procedures.

Analyze, reconcile, balance, and maintain accurate accounting records.

Address and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Research processing problems, contact units or vendors to resolve problems and respond to inquiries by telephone or in writing.

Prepare journal entries to record revenue and expenditure transactions.

Keep updated information of the daily currency foreign exchange.
-
Prepare and post commissions earned by employees including but not limited to the business developers.

Maintains records of company's fixed assets, amortizations, depreciation's, and assignation by employee.

Work with other departments to ensure timely and accurate information.

Support other departments as necessary.

Communicate, assist and provide information to internal and external auditors in completing audits.

Assist in the preparation of company tax returns and reports to regulatory bodies.

Prepare payment information to Revenue Canada and the Ministry of Finance or any other governmental authority as necessary.

Control, input and handle financial data and reporting for the company's automated operational system.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as directed or required by the company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Superior knowledge of Microsoft GP Dynamics is required ( 3 years of working experience).

Knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and best practices.

Ability to set up and maintain financial accounts and ledgers.
-
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
-
Spreadsheet software skills to quantify and illustrate routine financial reports, statements, and/or Projections.
-
Data entry, records maintenance skills, account balancing and reconciling skills.
-
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
-
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
-
Very detailed oriented.
-
Skill in organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling personal workflow.
-
Ability to work in a team environment.
-
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
-
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as ability to use other related software applications.
-
CPA is a bonus but not requirement.
